Conference 2026The Black Graduate Careers Conference is a free event being held on Friday 26 June, 10:00-1800 at Imperial’s South Kensington Campus. This year’s conference is designed to empower Black students and graduates to connect with employers, enhance their career skills, explore postgraduate opportunities, and discover pathways in STEM and business. The day will feature inspiring talks, an exhibition of employers actively seeking to hire Black graduates, and practical workshops where you can develop valuable career skills. Learn more below!

What’s on at the Black Graduate Careers Conference 2026
- Keynote speeches from leading figures – Hear from award-winning British entrepreneur, Nathaniel Peat, recognised as one of the UK’s most influential ethnic minority leaders. A former winner of The Last Millionaire, he is Founder & CEO of The Safety Box CIC, transforming the lives of vulnerable young people through leadership and enterprise, and Co-Founder of GeNNex Solar, delivering renewable energy solutions internationally.

We’ll also be serving a complimentary dinner of authentic Afro-Caribbean cuisine, with a live Afrobeats set from local favourite DJ Shakespeare Sounds bringing the vibes throughout the evening.

Keynote Speakers 2026
Nathaniel Peat is an award-winning entrepreneur, TEDx speaker, pilot, and youth advocate. He is the founder of The Safety Box®, a social enterprise tackling youth violence while building leadership, communication, and employability skills in young people. A co-founder of the EY Foundation, Advisor to Lloyds Banking Group, former Advisor to the Government of Jamaica for 6 years, former Chairman of the Brunel Business School Advisory Board, and co-founder of GeNNex Solar, he is recognised for his contributions to entrepreneurship, racial equality and youth development, and is a leading voice on leadership and social mobility.

Joy Omoregie is a corporate transformation specialist, leadership coach, and author of Woke at Work. She leads strategic initiatives across EMEA for Amazon Web Services’ GenAI Innovation Centre, driving AI innovation and enterprise transformation at scale. With previous senior leadership experience at HSBC, Joy is recognised for helping professionals and organisations accelerate performance, navigate change, and unlock growth opportunities.

Sarah Collington
Sarah Collington is a Medical Affairs leader with 10+ years’ experience across country and global roles, spanning oncology, haematology, cardiovascular, renal, and rare diseases at Novartis. She currently leads UK medical strategy for Precision Medicine and Paroxysmal Nocturnal Haemoglobinuria (PNH), driving diagnostics, genomics, and access initiatives across marketed and pipeline assets. Sarah has led and executed medical strategy across the asset lifecycle (pre-launch to established brands), partnering cross-functionally to enable approval, reimbursement, and clinical adoption.

Imperial College Alumni, Elliot Onochie, is a final-year Trauma & Orthopaedic Resident on the prestigious Royal London Rotation, and Honorary Lecturer at Queen Mary University, London. Elliot’s awards include the European Educational Sports Forum Award for academic achievement by elite sportspeople and a British Orthopaedic Association travelling fellowship. He enjoyed part of his Orthopaedic training in South Africa, founding a novel exchange programme. Elliot holds particular interest in creating educational environments that sustainably support underrepresented groups. He next heads to Perth, Australia, as a Fellow in their renowned Sports Unit.

Kathryn Plummer is an Imperial Physics graduate who is currently directing UK and European IP strategy for Nothing, the up-and-coming smartphone brand valued at over $1B. Kathryn trained as a European and Chartered Patent Attorney at Carpmaels & Ransford in 2019 before moving to Bird & Bird to practice patent litigation for telecommunications patents. Kathryn has recently started her role at Nothing and is looking forward to shaping the future of the brand.
