The Black Graduate Careers Conference is a free event being held on Friday 26 June, 10:00-1800 at Imperial’s South Kensington Campus. This year’s conference is designed to empower Black students and graduates to connect with employers, enhance their career skills, explore postgraduate opportunities, and discover pathways in STEM and business. The day will feature inspiring talks, an exhibition of employers actively seeking to hire Black graduates, and practical workshops where you can develop valuable career skills. Learn more below!

What’s on at the Black Graduate Careers Conference 2026

  • Keynote speeches from leading figures – Hear from award-winning British entrepreneur, Nathaniel Peat, recognised as one of the UK’s most influential ethnic minority leaders. A former winner of The Last Millionaire, he is Founder & CEO of The Safety Box CIC, transforming the lives of vulnerable young people through leadership and enterprise, and Co-Founder of GeNNex Solar, delivering renewable energy solutions internationally.

Keynote Speakers 2026
Nathaniel Peat is a multi-award-winning entrepreneur, international TEDx speaker, pilot, and youth advocate, best known as the founder of The Safety Box®, a pioneering social enterprise tackling youth violence while developing leadership, communication, and employability skills among young people. A Patron and co-founder of the EY Foundation, Chairman of the Brunel Business School Advisory Board, and co-founder of renewable energy company GeNNex Solar, Nathaniel works at the intersection of social impact, business, and education. Recognised internationally for his contributions to entrepreneurship, racial equality, and youth development, Nathaniel brings powerful insights on leadership, social mobility, and the future of talent.

Dr Andrea Taylor-Cummings holds 30 yrs experience as an organisation design and development consultant, coach and mentor, working internationally in both the public and private sector as a consultant with “big four” and niche consultancies, and as an entrepreneur. As a Co-Founder of The 4 Habits Institute, Dr Andrea delivers practical tools for professional relationship building to turn connection into a career superpower.

With over 30 years’ experience in professional services, including senior roles at Merrill Lynch and Credit Suisse, Jon Taylor-Cummings has built a career focused on developing stronger people, organisations, and relationships. As Co-CEO and Co-Founder of Soulmates Academy and Co-Founder of the 4 Habits Institute, Jon works with individuals, organisations, and communities to build relationship capability, improve engagement, and help people become their best selves.
